Enock and Martin went to this community to attend the general meeting with the residents of this village. On this day they had mobilized the residents to come for the general meeting. The kibo stuff organized to talk about standardization of all the facilities, ask residents reasons why they have taken a longtime with constructing their latrines and other facilities, know their challenges and get solutions to the issues of laziness, encourage the residents to speed up, meet all the new local leaders, remaining all the residents the importance and benefits of proper sanitation and hygiene. They also talked about the set for accomplishment of the program so that the people on this village are accountable to it. They mentioned some of the homes which have no latrines to a shame them, make them realize the core values of sanitation, it’s strategy to a shame them to speed up. The residents appreciated the great work, all the 6 LC1s appeared in the meeting, they spoke with their residents to encourage them, appreciated the work of kibo in their village, agreed to work with us to improve their village. During the meeting, the head of the police in the district of Namutumba and the community leasing officer came to join us. We had invited them to also come and encourage the residents, talk about community policing and also create a relationship with the residents of this village. Most people fear the police because in their back of the mind they know police only comes to arrest which is not true. The community leasing officer first got a chance to take about her self and what she does, then after she encouraged the residents to always come to the police to report any cases. She also taught them how to not fall culprits of some mob justice and any form of injustice in the community. The residents where educated in many ways to transform themselves and take all the lessons seriously. After the District police commander stood up to talk to the residents. The people where so happy to see him and ready to hear from him. He first of all gave wonderful remarks to kibo group for the great work they are doing and have so far done in this village. He continued to tell the people how kibo handles and builds relationships with them to have all these facilities. He focused on improving sanitation in this village, warned all the residents without latrines to start from today and construct them. He emphasized all the residents of to work so hard to improve on the sanitation.

We had a good number of people in the meeting, they came to learn and set the date of accomplishment. The date is on 31 September when the program will be completing their work here.
