Notes
Harriet,Jeska and Tape had planned to go to Sinde and guide the participants to choose a committee as well as policies that will govern the Healthy and Safe kitchen program.
They had called the Community a day before and made preparations for the day. Unfortunately on their way to sinde they got a call from one of the community members who told them that they one of the teachers in their community was found in his house dead and they were trying to make arrangements to take the body to soroti District for burial. They advised Kibo staff not to go to their village because they are soon heading out for the funeral.
Kibo staff decided to switch and go to Budumba village and see what is going on since this community had planned to cut grass for building stoves on that day.
They thought it was a good idea for them to go to this village and see how serious this village was.
It was very interesting when they got in this village they found when the community had collected grass and had started cutting grass.
The community was very excited when they saw Kibo staff an expectedly and they thanked them for the love that Kibo is showing them.
Harriet told them this was a test to see how serious they was because before the first stove is built in their village they are expected to cut two sacks of grass to prove that they are interested.
Kibo staff joined them and they cut two sacks of grass. At the end of it all Kibo staff asked them to choose two people who will get the first stoves in the next meeting.
This was very exciting for the community to decide on two people with out any conflict among them selves. It was peaceful done. Kibo staff told them to gather every thing that will be needed at the homes of those two people who will get the first stoves.
The community was very happy and thanked Kibo for the love through working in their Community.
