Notes
When Alex B arrived to Bupaluka,he found members waiting for him at the usual meeting place. The meeting began with prayer that was led by the Mutooto Saul the chairperson of the group.
The members discussed what they can do together that will help them as a group. They suggested projects that will help them to earn income in the group which will help them to stay united and encourage them to to work together.
Mulondo Patrick suggested to do agriculture and his idea was to get land plant cassava that after they can harvest sale it and get money.Another idea was to have a box where everyone can put his or her money, but this idea was rejected by most of the members. The box issue was rejected immediately on ground that whatever will be put there was to benefit individuals.
Mugerwa Miria suggested to grow tomatoes and her reason was they can use a small piece of land and benefit much. She went on to say that there is always market for them right from the garden.
Naigaga Silvia suggested to grow maize and argument was that maize can resist to some pests which may attack it.She also said that it does not need much time after weeding for two times.
Alex B advised them meet and discuss each crop ,discuss what it takes for the crop to be grown. For example what it requires from getting the land, labour, drugs for spraying, storage, packing and if also manure will needed. He told them know the money that might be required as expenditure from planting to harvesting time. He also asked them as they discuss and to estimate how much they are to get out the garden. Alex B told them think of their personal in put as they plan to implement the idea.
