Notes
Harriet, Fallon and Tape went to Budumba to build a demonstration stove. They reached in the village and found when the community had already gathered materials required for building stoves.
The good news was a member from Bulyowa village( Mugabe Samuel) had gone in their village and taught them how to mix grass and termite dirt. By the time they got into the village they found when the community had already mixed the dirt and grass but they had mixed less quantity.
Kibo staff appreciated them for having taken a step of mixing dirt and grass though the quantity was less. They added on the quantity to ensure that they had what was enough for the stove.
Kibo staff started stamping the dirt and the community joined. They started stamping the dirt while singing songs of success. This attracted children who later joined in the stamping the dirt.
Kibo staff built two demonstration stoves as they explained the whole process to the community. They encouraged them that Kibo’s goal is to empower them with a skill so that they can build stoves on their own.
When the community so the two complete stoves they were very excited and thanked Kibo for implementing their programs in their village.
