Notes
Enock and Martin visited this village to complete the third evaluation survey. They met with the leaders and started moving around to check on the presence of latrines, shower areas, dish racks, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, clean compounds and use hand washing facilities and their presence. As we walked around, we encouraged the residents to come for the next general meeting with the residents in the upper section since most of them didn’t attend the Hand washing triggering session. There has been a great improvement and impact in the lower section since most people in that section came for the meeting to learn about the importance and values of hand washing stations. The people have constructed them and using them. We saw about 28 new hand washing stations in this section. The people in the upper side of this village also agreed to come for the meeting to see that they can learn the importance of hand washing, learn how to construct a better hand washing station. The chairman and VHTs also continued encouraging the residents to construct better facilities, always come for the meetings to learn. There are many people who have worked so hard to construct good facilities. We saw many new latrines and encouraged them to smear the facilities, use ash to chase flies and keep the latrine clean.
