Notes
Tom made a visit to kisiro village to check on sanitation and hygiene improvements through the construction of sanitation and hygiene facilities such as latrines. When he was in the village, he moved around with the committee members checking on latrines being constructed as well as guiding some of the residents on better construction methods. They started from the trading center section where they saw a newly finished latrine as several dish racks. They encouraged the chairman of the trading center section to continue encouraging his residents to improve. Later they loved to the lower section as on there way to the lower section, they also found a resident working on the structure of his new latrine. He was using bricks and Tom encouraged his that when he is done by the wall, that he should construct the roof as well to protect his latrine from heavy rain storms. They after moved into another section of five homes with four pits. They found when two of the pits are being constructed on and one of them was already done. Tom thanked the resident for the efforts he has put in but also encouraged his brothers to do the same by constructing of the pits. Tom also cautioned them that the longer the pits stay and rains find them, the higher chances of the pits collapsing in. So Tom urged them to construct on the pits as well as constructing the dish racks, shower facilities etc. when Tom was done with that section, he left for jinja.
