Notes
Harriet and Suzan passed by the sub county to meet the Community Development officer and the goal was to introduce the Healthy and Safe kitchen program to him. Unfortunately they did not find him and were told that he had gone for a meeting at Namutumba District. Kibo staff decided to head out to Naisamula village and introduce the program to LC1 chairperson as well as discuss the time, date and venue that is convenient to the community. As soon as Kibo staff arrived at the church building where the community always hold their meetings, people started coming and gathered for the meeting. During that process even the LC1 of the village also came. Kibo staff introduced themselves to the community and told them that they had not planned a meeting but the goal was to look at their homes and see where they had maintained their home facilities in order to qualify for the next program. The chairperson LC1 and the few members who had turned up welcomed the program and asked Kibo staff to have the first meeting with the community on 26 September 2018. Harriet urged these people to mobilize every one in the village where a Mvule member or non Mvule member. They later walked with them through the homes in the community and it was found out that 100% of the homes that were reached cooked on open flames that produced a lot of smoke that formed suit around the walls and the roofs of the kitchens. This activity was led by the Chairperson LC1 and it was intentional for all the community members . The village is very massive and interesting all the members stayed in their homes as Kibo staff inspected them. The community thanked Kibo for visiting their homes and encouraged them to maintain their home facilities.
