- Notes
- Harriet, Suzan and Falon had planned to introduce the Healthy and Safe kitchen program to the community.
Unfortunately they reached in the community when there was a funeral and some people were at the funeral while others were also planning to go. Some members were proposing that Kibo should teach a few members and leave others to go to the funeral.
Harriet thought wise that if she teaches some people and leave others to attend the funeral it will lead to division in this community.
Kibo staff decided to council the meeting and head out to funeral to mourn with the mourners because the person who had died in the community was a community member. Kibo staff told that they are not very different from this community that they would only go back to Jinja because of the funeral but instead mourn with them when there is a funeral or celebrate with them when they are celebrating.
They participated in funeral activities by carrying water and firewood to the funeral. The community was very impressed when they saw them humbling themselves and participating in the funeral activities.
Also there were rumors at the funeral that the diseased was bewitched which caused a lot of tension. It was very challenging for Kibo staff to come up with Comforting massage but since the community was encouraged by Kibo’s love they asked them to give them words of comfort.
Harriet encouraged them to be careful by the words that the mourners will tell them . Some will claim to be knowing the cause of the death but the question should be if they loved the deceased they would have told them before so that to find a right medication.
Harriet also prayed for the family and encouraged them to stay faithful to the lord despite the sorrow moments. The community was very thankful for the love that Kibo showed them and they promised to stay working together in all situations.
The meeting was also postponed to 1/ 10/2018 and encouraged them to attend.
