Notes
Alex met with the village vht leader frank who together moved to Nawaikona primary school where the third borehole is located. They met with the school head teacher and discussed a way forward to get this well fixed. This was the second time to meet with the school management and the water user committee members. In the meeting we were joined by the chairman water user committee, Mr Badagawa and together they agreed that the school and part of the community members who benefit from this well have to raise 200,000/= towards the borehole repair which everyone agreed that they would cooperate with Kibo group. This borehole mostly helps the school and about 20 homes around the school. This borehole however has many issues breaking down almost every after two weeks due to bad type of pipes and cylinder. One thing that needs to be done is to get the stainless steel pipes and rods, new cylinder and head assembly. The school will work together with the community members and contribute this money before Kibo can continue to fix this well. The school appreciates Kibo group for having reached out to help fix this borehole as it serves about 600 school going kids that attend this school. They promised to do whatever it takes to collect this money. Alex and the chairman of the committee also agreed to have another general meeting with the community water users for this well on the 8/10/2018 to discuss more about the community roles and responsibility towards their borehole and continue with a training of the water committee about their roles and responsibilities.
