Notes
Introduction Lorna went to Kigalama to teach on cure or treatment of HIV/AIDS. Overview Lorna met a few people at the meeting place and they waited for others to join them. When the number had increased , Lorna introduced the topic of the day Cure or Treatment of HIV/AIDS. Lorna started by asking what was the difference between cure and treatment. She further asked them about those diseases that have a cure and those that don’t. They mentioned those that don’t cure as HIV and Herpes locally known as Kisipi” and Syphilis. Lorna informed them with proper treatment and taking ones medication diligently, one can get cured of syphilis and gonorrhoea. She added that it only remains when one does not fully complete their doze of medication and does not follow the doctors prescription. As for Herpes she informed them that it was like HIV whereby, their is medications that treats but does not cure. Lorna added Hepatitis B. She informed them bacteria can cure but not viruses. On addition to treatment, Lorna asked the members what else can they do to ensure that these persons living with HIV can leave longer. They mentioned; ensuring that the person is not stressed, that they eat well, not segregate them , love and care for them among others. Lorna added spiritual support, psycho social support like counselling among others. Conclusion Lorna concluded by urging the members to stay faithful for the marrieds and for the unmarried to use protection.
