Notes
On his way to kisiro, Tom received a call from one of the village committee members telling him of a death in the community of a prominent village leader. The committee member suggested that most of the committee members were going to attend the funeral so it was not a good idea for Tom to go to the village of kisiro. Right away Tom changed plans and made a call to the chairman of kalitumba about his visit to the village. The chairman said he was present and that other committee members were present as well. Therefore Tom drove to kalitumba. On reaching the village, he found the chairman and two of the committee members were waiting at the chairman place. Together they first went through the list of residents contributing money for the iron sheet and the slab. Tom encouraged the committee members to explain to the residents and move around home to home telling the residents of the opportunity of getting and iron sheet after a small contribution. The committee members also raised the concern of many residents not believing as many organizations has taken there money before promising them things. Tom told the committee members that Kibo is a different organization that stands and fulfills its promises. After the discussion, Tom and the committee members moved around the village checking on facility improvements and new constructions. They found a new kitchen under construction, a,new latrine as well as new hand Washington facilities being constructed. Tom encouraged the residents to continue working on improving their sanitation and hygiene as well as constructing facilities that are durable and those that meet the set standards. After Tom left for jinja.
