Notes
Jeska, Tape and Suzan went to Naisamula with the purpose of teaching and introducing the Healthy and Safe kitchen program to the community. They found some of the members already gathered at the church compound where the meeting was to take place.
The vice chairperson Mr.Mulindwa opened the meeting welcoming kibo staff and requested them to start the teachings as they waited for more members to join them. Suzan welcomed the members and made them to feel at home, she introduced the program to the members and and also talked about the importance and benefits of the energy saving stoves.
During the meeting, the members were also given a chance to talk about the challenges that they faced while they were using the three stones open fire stoves. Most people said that they have a challenge of lack of firewood since most people don’t own forests where to fetch firewood on daily basis that forces them to still from the neighbors. And once they are caught stilling there are taken to courts of law and charged a lot of money.
They also said that open flames produce a lot of smoke that has caused most people to develop chest and eye programs and the women are the most affected people.
Tape and Jeska also talked about the materials that were used to build the energy saving stove,
Mr mulindwa concluded by thanking Kibo staff for bringing such a good program to them, for it was to improve on their lives and unity.
