Enock and Martin walked in this village to check on the progress of latrine construction in homes that promised to construct new latrines. There are already two new latrines under construction as the men were found busy carrying bricks to the latrine holes and the other one was already building his new one. They encouraged them to sweep there compounds and make use of the rubbish pits. Some of the residents who had short shower areas, were taught the values of having nice shower areas and the standard size. This is because as they were moving around, they met someone having a short shower area and as he was showering he could stand straight in it. Enock and the group he was moving with ashamed him and taught him the disadvantages of short shower structures. Proper drainage systems like digging soak pits were also taught to some of the residents who have shower areas but the water that comes out from the shower moves all over and makes the place wet, some times it's stagnant and allows mosquitoes to breed hence continuous spread of malaria. The residents were so grateful for the lessons that are taught to them and are willing to work and improve on the sanitation levels of the whole village. The village is progressing well though they are still a few homes that have been slow to change. The plan is to carry out a joint meeting with the whole community at some point to see how the community can help to monitor one another, encourage one another, evaluate and continue working as a whole community to create a great improvement in the sanitation of the whole village.
