Notes
David and Steven were in the village after they were told by the District bout an organization which had visited Nawandyo A upper section. The intention of that organization was to assess and monitor the status of all the boreholes in Nawandyo village. They also focused on the sanitation of the status of the entire village. According to that organization,s analysis they reported to Namutumba district officials. About the quite a-number of latrines and shower areas which were down because of the heavy rains. They also said that the borehole status wasn’t good because it was found very dirty and without a fence as well as a good soak pit.
Therefore because of those two reasons ,the Kibo WASH sent there David and Steven to follow up on that problem. When David and Steven reached the village, they first visited mr Gasemba Mohamed,s home and wanted mr Gasemba to lead them to the upper section which was heavily affected. David and Steven moved in about 10 homes. Then later come back for a meeting . In that meeting these were the point which were discussed about .
How can they revive their sanitation standards. The members said that after the Kibo staff helping with guiding them to come up with anew water users committee. That committee which would guide the rest of the entire village to maintain the required sanitation standards as well as maintaining the good status of the borehole.
The village together with Kibo staff concluded their meeting by the Kibo staff hopping to go there on 31/10/ 2018 for a village general meeting.which they hope to help them come up with anew and active committee. The village also learnt and concluded that without a-committee their borehole would not smoothly stay serving the community.ln general according to the Kibo’s analysis they concluded that there was great need for the village to improve on their borehole as well as the sanitation status . Also the Kibo staff concluded by saying that in the meeting they hope to held on 31/10/2018 its when they hope to guide the community as they elect to form up anew water and sanitation committee. And also emphasizing about the safe water chain.
