- Notes
- Harriet found when the participants had already gathered and were busy stamping the dirt for building stoves.
Harriet told them that this time its the women who are going to build stoves on their own because she wants them also to learn other than relying on the men.
The women told her that they can manage because they were fearing to make mistakes. Harriet encouraged them to try and in case of any mistake she will help them correct it.
The women tried to measure banana stems for building stoves but they totally failed . Harriet retaught then How to measure banana stems. Also setting up the source pans they misfired because they put the small pot in the space for the big pot.
Harriet corrected them and told them that the arrangement of source pan is very important because if the big pot is far a way from the hole of firewood food may not get ready because it doesn’t receive enough fire.
She also told the women not always to sit back but ensure that they participate until they learn. She also told the men to give women chance to participate in building stoves so that they can also learn how to build stoves.
The women also promised to keep on practicing until they become perfect. They also thanked Harriet for being patient with them despite them being slow learners.
