Notes
Enock went in this village to check on the latrine maintenance, shower areas, dish racks, kitchen areas, hand washing facilities, rubbish pits if they are still under use, if not in use to dig new ones and also clean the compounds so well. There are many people who have surely maintained all the facilities except the use of ash is not effectively and continuously used. He encouraged them on the importance of ash while demonstrating how to apply inside the latrines to chase flies and reduce the bad smell which attract flies. The residents visited are all having good latrines and used. In the family of Mr Moses isiko for long he didn't have a latrine but he managed to construct a new latrine constructed with brick and also build a nice kitchen for his wife. He told Enock a challenge in his home that his two wives don't want to sweep the compound. He requested Enock to go and talk to them to see that they can change. He met with the ladies and had a talk about the benefits of clean compounds and use of a rubbish pit to properly dispose all the rubbish and keep the home clean. The ladies understood and promised to always sweep the yard and maintain the hygiene. Enock and the VHT continued to walk around to evaluate, teach, encourage the residents on the importance and benefits of the sanitation of the whole community.
