Introduction Lorna was in this village to summarize with the HIV/AIDs topic and introduce the topic Decision making. Overview This was quite a challenging day as there were 2 funerals in the village.Lorna reached the village and started by moving around and while moving around is when she found out about the funerals. Some of the people she met told her they will not be able to attend the meeting as they were preparing to go for burial. Lorna then asked the chairman whether they should postpone the day but he said no and that those that were available would attend the meeting as this was important as well. At the meeting there were some people moving around collecting money from those that were going to the funeral to hire the van they were to use. This therefore made the meeting to delay as Lorna could not interrupt the process. After the collection of the money and the people who were going left, the meeting then started. The chairman opened with a word of prayer and gave a few opening remarks before inviting Lorna to teach. Lorna started by comforting them for their loss and prayed that God comfort them through it all. Lorna then continued with the review of the HIV topic before introducing the topic Decision making skills. Lorna also taught the last 2 topics that were left under HIV/AIDS which the rights of PLWHIV/AIDs and finally HIV and behavioral change. Lorna asked the community members present if these persons had rights at all. Some said it depends on the kind of rights. Lorna gave an example of a right to marry. This created a big discussion as some said they have a right but only to marry those infected like them, others said they have a right to get to married others said they should never get married. Lorna thanked them for their opinions but gave them several examples of couples who are married and yet one is positive and the other is negative. One lady put up her hand to clarify on this she said what Lorna said is true and she said at a certain hospital she went to she witnessed 2 couples who are like that. She said such couples need to continually seek medical advise from the health centers. Lorna asked the community to clap for her. This discussion came up after the chairman also mentioned he has a friend who is positive and the wife is negative and their children are negative how was that possible. Lorna said such couples , the negative person is put on medication while the others viral load is also being monitored and also as they continue taking their medication. The doctors will then advise when they can go ahead and have a child. Lorna asked for other rights and they sad; right to work but not do hard jobs, right to eat a balanced diet, right to go to school. Lorna asked if these people have a right to public opinion? , they said yes. Lorna asked how about if they wanted to be a political leader should they go ahead and participate, some said no while others said yes. Lorna added that PLWHIV/AIDS are normal as those living without and they also need equal treatment. They also looked at a right to equal representation in court, equal treatment at the hospital among others. They then looked at HIV/AIDS and behavioral change where they looked at what can a person living positive do to help them leave longer and healthier. They mentioned they should stop sleeping around, they should get tested, continue with their treatment plan daily, go for counseling, use protection among others. Lorna finished by introducing the topic decision making whereby she briefly described what the topic was about. She told them for every single decision we make, there are things we ought to think about before making a decision. Lorna asked for example if one is to get married in Uganda what age should they be?. They said there is no age but only one young lady who is about 20 years and pregnant whispered 18. Lorna told her to repeat what she said and she said at 18 years. Lorna had a reason why she asked this because while starting the Life Skills Education and Counseling program this village a lot of child marriages. Conclusion Lorna concluded by advising the community to forgive each other considering the previous local council elections as some people are still hanging on hurt feelings. Lorna thanked them for coming and wished them well.
