Ws Notes
David was in the village to follow up on the three homes that had not yet completed working and improving on their latrines. When David was in the village ,he was accompanied by some two committee members to the homes that were still constructing shelters around their new dug pits. The first home David and the group visited was for Nansubuga Jane . She is the vice chairwoman on the water and sanitation committee. They found her when she had dug her new pit about 30feet deep.David and the group were so much encouraged with Nansubuga for being creative and hard working. Nansubuga told the group that she dug anew pit because the old one was about to get filled up. David encouraged Nansubuga to take her time and add on the 30 feet she had dug . They also advised her to use good construction materials for the sustainability of her new pit latrine . David and the group visited the second home which was for mr Watongola Bashili .They found him when he was a half way left to finish the construction of his new pit. Because he wasn’t around in his home ,therefore the David ‘s group advised the Watongola’s wife to talk to her has-band so that they get to finish the construction of their new pit latrine in time. The last home the group visited was for Luvaluka Ronald. They found him when he was also constructing a shelter around his pit . They advised mr Ronald Luvaluka the defense of the village to finish up his shelter construction in time. David advised mr Ronald since he is the defense of the village to always take a-lead in all the aspects of development in his village. After all that David and the group went to where the other group was at the borehole . When David reached at the borehole he divided the members who were there in three groups. One group was sent to get the borehole poles for the fence . The second group was assigned by David to go and collected the stones for the sock pit and the third group was to remain at the borehole to clean up its compound. The first group came back to the borehole with real good standardized poles . They found when David had demarcated for the members how the fence and sock-pit was supposed to be constructed. Later the other second group came back to the borehole with stones. What impressed David a lot was to see the ladies on the water user committee carrying the most biggest poles to the borehole. The whole process of cutting the poles and taking them to the borehole took for the members a lot of time because where they were getting the poles from was quite a longer distance . David thanked the owner of the garden who gave out his poles on behalf of the entire village. Because the members had spent much of their time collecting the poles ,gravels, sand for the maintenance of their borehole fence and slab. David organized the members for abrief meeting . The meeting was to thank all of them for the work and unity they showed . Then later afterwards David assigned to them which materials were missing for example the nails and the aggregates for the slab maintenance. Miss Nansubuga Jane the treasurer on the borehole committee gave a brief report about the status of their borehole account. She said that they had collected 30000 shillings and added it to the 277000shillings all together totaling to 307000 shillings. David advised the committee members to continue visiting the members who had not yet effected their borehole contributions. In general the entire village has worked and improved expect Watongola Bashili and luvaluka Ronald who were still constructing the shelters around their pits.
