Notes
Harriet found a few participants waiting for her at the meeting place. She later walked with them inspecting the stoves she did not inspect the previous meeting. She found most members whose stoves had dried out were being used on daily basis and this was evidenced by the absence of the three stones in the kitchen and finding some people cooking on their stoves. The participants had smeared their kitchen as well as the kitchen decorated with the message thanking Kibo for empowering them with health and Community development programs. This was a sign to show how much the community feels blessed and empowered through Kibo activities. Also during the the home visiting Harriet came across one home with a complaint that the small hole for the stove was not cooking and she was wondering why? Harriet inspected the stove and the challenge was the group left a very big gap between the big hole for cooking and the small hole for cooking which required a lot of oxygen to move fire from the big hole to the small hole. Harriet remolded the stove, reduced the gap between the two cooking space and told her to wait for it to dry so that she starts cooking on it. The owner of the stove and the community thanked Harriet on behalf of Kibo for being patient with them despite the many mistakes that have always done. Harriet told them that Kibo’s goal is to ensure that they master a skill and build stoves one their own perfectly no matter how long it takes.she also encouraged to continue practicing because practice makes perfect.
