Notes
The community members are embracing the program, working towards the time period set by them to have all the facilities completed. There many new latrines under construction and some are also finished. The people who have already finished, are working on dish racks, constructing good shower areas, digging rubbish pits, putting up hand washing facilities in place. The members are strongly encouraged to always use ash everyday in the Latrine and always have a container which collects ash and is kept inside the latrines. The reason why the use of ash was being emphasised in latrines, is that there were so many flies in most of the latrines. In some other homes, they met some kids constructing a new latrine in there home, they also saw 6 newly dug latrine holes under construction. Enock and the sub county healthy inspector encouraged them to construct strong latrines, taught them how to construct good facilities and the benefits of having them. There was an interesting story in the family of Mr Eriasa kirya who has a latrine and some facilities but since his wife divorced him and left him with all the children because of some issues, he brought some witch doctors and told them to perform some rituals to bring back the wife but nothing happened, yet he paid 2 goats, 1 chicken and still remains with the balance to pay them, Enock got a chance to speak to him and encouraged him to trust the lord, always pray to God and improve on the standard of his home not just giving away his money to witch doctors but to use that money for something beneficial for his family to develop, or to also pay a visit to the family of his wife and find a proper way to talk to his wife to come back home and take care of his family. It was an awesome day and people are so appreciative for the work Kibo is doing.
