- Notes
- Harriet found a few participants waiting at the meeting place. As soon as she reached other members also turned up for the meeting. She asked the members to walk with her to Masembe’s house where a demonstration exercise of removing banana stems was to be carried out.
She asked the group to enter into the kitchen and watch how she was going to take out banana stems because they are expected to learn how to build stoves on their own.
Harriet removed the five banana stems from the previously built stove , she did this as she explained to the group the whole process. After this was done the owner of the stove when she show a complete stove she rushed and started to light fire on it because she was very excited.
Harriet told her to wait for more three weeks until the stove is completely dry or else it will crack. Other people whose stoves had dried said that she they started cooking on the stoves their lives changed because the stove cooks fast, uses less firewood, eliminates cases of fire accidents as well as reduces family conflicts because their husbands are always served on time.
Harriet encouraged them to keep on practicing so that they learn to build stoves on their own which they can later turn into business.she also encouraged them to stay working together in order to achieve success.
