- Notes
- When Tom arrived in the village of kisiro, he found the committee members waiting in the trading center and after a short meeting, they decided that they all move to the lower section of isamba. They sorted off from the section of the trading center where they found a resident digging a new pit for a new latrine. His old latrine s about to collapse and he said he wants to have one done before the the old one collapses. After they moved to the lower section were they found three new pits being dug. One pit is for a new resident moving into the area while the other is for a resident who is planning for a new latrine because he wants to construct a better Latrine than the old one. Tom and the committee members encouraged the residents to work hard and finish their facilities. They also moved to other homes where they found newly constructed latrines. In one home, they family has already constructed a new latrine for the old woman and now they are working on a new latrine. Tom was appreciative to the, for constructing a latrine for the old woman. He encouraged them to also construct for her a new shower facility as well as a small kitchen. The councilor of the village also found Tom and the committee members moving around and he thanked Tom(kibo) for the great work that is going on in the village as regards sanitation and hygiene improvements.
