- Notes
- Steven together with the village leader and the water user committee members moved around the village checking on the sanitation standards of the homes and continue encouraging people to maintain these facilities and replace those old ones. They reached about 20 homes and most of the pit latrines are still in good shape.
Wash staff have been active in this village for the last two years encouraging and teaching people the values of proper sanitation and hygiene. Also the community was told that only if they had all these required sanitation facilities and still maintained, Kibo will help to fix their well that needs repair. some homes have constructed new dish racks replacing the old ones. Steven also asked the water user committee to construct a new borehole fence and all promised that it would be worked on the following day since they had got all the poles to use. The community has so far contributed 220,000/= towards their borehole account and repair. Water Sanitation and hygiene staff will continue to go back and train the water user committee about their roles and responsibilities and check on the new borehole fence and it’s standard.
