Suzan, Tape and Jessica went to the village purposely to build more demonstration stoves. This was important because majority of the community members had not learnt the skills needed for building an energy saving stove mainly because they were many and couldn’t fit in one kitchen where the stove would be built . When Kibo staff arrived at the village, they found some of the community members gathered at the meeting place who got so excited on seeing them. Among them was the committee chairperson madam Kansiime who led the Kibo staff to one of their member’s home where one of the demonstration stove was going to be built. Many members were already gathered at the home very busy arranging the building materials as previously suggested by the Kibo staff in the previous meeting. They immediately dropped everything and ran towards the Kibo staff smiling and hugging one another with happiness. After exchanging greetings, Suzan informed the community how the whole activity of building the stoves would be carried out that day. She then requested them to form two groups mixing up men and women,the old and young. Each group was to be led by a Kibo staff during the demonstration time and this was a very important idea because it created enough space for each member to watch the whole building process while Kibo staff explained every step for them. Later after a brief meeting, each group with their leaders went separate ways to the previously selected homes where the demonstration stoves would be built. Both groups worked hard together with their leaders whereby Tape and Jessica kept on encouraging the members to practice through participation, mainly in stamping the dirt and cutting the banana stems. The members also kept on asking questions throughout the building process which was also important because it enabled them understand each step easily and effectively without being left out . Suzan kept taking photos of the members trying to participate during the demonstration time until the entire building process came to an end. Two fuel efficient stoves were successfully built that day and thereafter both groups came together and thanked Kibo group for the healthy and safe kitchen program promising to continue working together for a better healthy living . Kibo staff also went ahead and thanked every community member for participating in the demonstration process encouraging them to maintain the same spirit of working together for an effective development in their entire village. Together they agreed on the date and time that the next meeting would take place, and the meeting came to an end with a prayer from one of the community members.
