Ws Notes
David and Steven were in the village to teach the community members about their roles and responsibilities towards their borehole. At the village they found when almost everyone had gathered waiting for the Kibo staff at their usual meeting place under the jackfruit tree . The Kibo staff started the teaching with award of prayer . And later on they explained the importance of all the community members knowing how they would protect the future sustainability of their borehole. The Kibo staff explained and taught the members in the meeting that it is every ones responsibility to safeguard the future sustainability of their borehole. They were also advised to always continue contributing money towards their borehole account in order to avoid any further breakdowns. During the corse of the Kibo staff,s teaching ,David advised the community members that it will not always be the Kibo or government to maintain for them their borehole. Hence they were advised to be taking the lead Incase of any future maintenance. The community was advised to respect the water user committee members by regularly attending the water and sanitation committee meetings as away of assessing their way forward and progress. The Kibo staff emphasized much more about the chain of the safe clean water from the borehole to their different homes. They therefore said that their borehole compound, sock pit ,their homes and fence should be alway kept under a good status . They were advised to use the hand pump mechanic from the district Incase of any break down to avoid the fake people who still the good parts from the different borehole.Either to seek advise from the Kibo staff. Towards the end of the their teaching David asked about what was the status of their borehole account. She said that they had 300000 shillings as their borehole account balance. David encouraged them to continue contributing more and more and if they had some faithful members so that they would loan out some money as way of adding on what they were having. In general the hygiene and sanitation around the entire village was good and no case of open deification
