Notes
David and Steven were in kagulu lower section to assess the sanitation progress of the homes which were still lagging behind . When David and Steven reached the village in the trading centre they were joined by the chairman of the village mr Micheal who lead the Kibo staff to the different homes which were still lagging behind .
They visited the following homes ,mr Bogere Gudule . They found him when he had constructed a 20 feet deep pit and even he had finished constructing a shelter around it . The second home they visited to was for Eliyabali lsiko and kibwika Nefutali they had also completed the construction of their pit latrines and they were in use already.
The Kibo staff continued to Muwanguzi Anthony who was still practicing open deification. He told David that he was a new resident in that community. Therefore he requested David to give him a grace period of two weeks before he gets to dig and complete the construction of his pit latrine .
They continued with their home to home movements to mr Wandera Yokana who was the stubbornest member .Because on several occasions they had told him to have a toilet in his home ,but he never wanted to do so. However for that time when they were in that Village mr Wandera Yokana had hired someone to dig for him a-latrine . It was 3 feet deep. The Kibo staff because of that they advised him to talk to the one who was digging for him his latrine to double his efforts.
They also visited mr Onywa’s home . The Kibo staff were so impressed with him because he had a bar in his home .But he had constructed a deep pit latrine of about 25feet . David advised him to take his time and use the better construction materials for the future sustainability of his latrine.
The last home the Kibo staff visited to was for mr Duuke’s home .It was a challenging home because the owner of the house allowed the two tenants to use his house. But unfortunately mr Duuke the owner of the home didn’t have a latrine . The tenants were advised to talk to their landlord mr Duuke so that he would construct a toilet for them . The tenants said that they will talk to him so that later communicate to the Kibo staff for a better sanitation improvements.
In general the majority of the members have worked and improved except the 24 homes which were still lagging behind as far as their hygiene and sanitation standards of their homes were concerned.
