- The community is still in Martin’s wedding mood. They feel like they can also make it as Martin did. They contributed a full bag of sweet potatoes and the firewood that worked the whole time of the wedding time.

- In Kitukiro the only talk on people’s mouths is Martin Kibuuka’s wedding ceremony. Every one participated with one heart. We thank God for this united community.

- Health lesson 3: Burns

- Ida went to introduce a health lesson about “ burns” The reason as to why this lesson is important is that the community is empowered with knowledge on how to prevent and know the importance of taking victims to the hospital to the experts. She asked the community members if there is any burn victim in the village? They said that they have and even some died. She asked the community to tell her what a burn is and those who tried said that a burn is burn. They couldn’t explain what it is but know it.
Ida told them that a burn is a damage on a skin caused by fire or heat.
Ida asked the community what they think that causes burns.
Gonza said that twins can cause burns. Ida was curious and asked how? Gonza said that in the African culture when you have twins and don’t perform rituals , they can burn you and your skins might look like that of a Leopard or completely peel of.
Ida was frank and told the community that she didn’t know anything about twins burning their relatives.
Tofa said the causes of burns is open fires, and porridge.
Kaliyah said that negligence and domestic violence.
Tofa explained how open fires can cause burns. When a woman is cooking and accidentally steps on the firewood it can hit the pot and then flips over and the boiled water or porridge pours on someone’s body.
Kaliyah also explained her point of negligence. When a mother decides to let children cook, that too can cause burns. Eg mothers who leave candles in the house, anything can happen maybe a curtain can catch fire which might lead to burning of the whole house probably the children too.
Ida asked the community should be done to prevent these problems. Florence said that building energy saving stoves.
Maria said hiding matches that children can’t reach them.
Sefuloza asked husbands to help stay with children as women cook.
Ida encouraged women to their children at the back until cooking is done to avoid very many problems that might come.
Zubairi asked if burns are beyond their capacity, what can they do? Ida bounced back the question to the community.
Prossy said that urinate on the wound or put Mvule sarp on the affected area. The VHT present advised the community never to apply such things on wounds but take victims to the nearby health centers. Because burns can kill when we are not careful.
