Notes
Martin and the VHT and the Chairman moved around the community to teach the importance of Hygiene and sanitation, check the sanitation of the village. Martin was able to see some good latrines, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen facilities and other sanitation facilities. There is a home in the trading center which did not have a latrine before but now has constructed one. The man was so happy to show off his new latrine to Martin, whereby Martin then taught him the importance of using ash to get rid of flies as well as smell and told him to also construct a dish rack because he does not have one. Martin and the VHT continued to move in the section of the Chairman near the swamp area to check on the progress of the village and were able to see how many people are working hard, digging new rubbish pits and sweeping the compound. Generally, the sanitation of the community is improving so well. The village is changing from going to the bush to now constructing latrines and using the latrines.
