Notes
Tom made a visit to Namutumba district to meet with the district health inspector as well as other district officials about kibo work in Namutumba as well as discussed about how well they more and effectively work together in the coming year. During the discussion they talked about villages kibo has worked in especially in sanitation and hygiene. Tom listed those villages as well as the old villages as well. The district health inspector also shared about new technologies in sanitation and hygiene. Tom also shared with them the new additions to the sanitation and hygiene such as iron sheets and slabs. The District health inspector was happy for those additions adding that they will create durability to the facilities such as latrines. Also Tom addressed the issue of Igerera A not having a public latrine as many people don’t have latrines in the trading center due to the rock. The district health inspector encouraged the councilor from that section to write a formal letter requesting for a public latrine. Many councilors thanked Kibo for the work it has done in there villages but many requested that kibo goes to even more new villages and they all promised to give support to kibo whenever needed. There was also an issue rained about working together to encourage residents to go to hospitals in villages kibo is working in for immunization of hepatitis B. But this was suggested that it will be discussed more in the next meeting.
