- Notes
- Suzan and Jessica went to Buyange village with the purpose of monitoring the healthy and safe kitchen facilities and ensure that they are in a good state. Unfortunately when they arrived there, they met a few community members at the meeting place who happily welcomed them and informed them of how they had lost one of their members.
And for that reason, most of them had already left for the burial ceremony a few kilometers away from their village.
The members suggested that they move together with Kibo staff around a few homes while looking at the facilities and give advice where necessary. There and then, they began moving around homes of those who were available, looking at different facilities most especially the energy saving stoves. During the process, Jessica and Suzan kept on encouraging the members to continue smearing the stoves and kitchens for a better look and also to repair other facilities such as the bathrooms, latrines, dish racks and rubbish pit for healthy living.
The community members were so great full for the advice given and promised to inform other members who were not present to improve on their sanitation and hygiene for a better healthy living. Kibo staff not only moved around the village, but also removed old banana stems out of the stoves that were built by the members one week ego.
Without wasting time, Kibo staff thanked the members for their time and sent their condolences to the family of the late. They wished them a Merry Xmas and a Happy New-year promising to meet again in the coming year.
