Notes
Suzan, Tape and Jessica went to the village with the purpose of building more demonstration stoves. When they arrived there, they found some community members with their L.C 1 chairperson gathered at the meeting place under a big tree. They happily welcomed them while dancing and singing on top of their voices which attracted more members to come. After exchanging greetings and hugs, the group chairperson opened the meeting with a prayer and thereafter welcomed Kibo staff to their village. Suzan thanked the community for their work, wishing them a blessed New year beginning ,full of happiness and success. She then requested the members to go to their respective groups with their leaders in preparation for building more demonstration stoves. Immediately the members separated into two groups mixing up men and women old and young and went to different parts within the village. Both groups worked so hard with their leaders participating in each step until they built two demonstration stoves in two different homes. This was very important because it created space for each member to participate in every step of the demonstration process so as to master the skills easily. Kibo staff thanked all the members for participating in all the healthy and safe kitchen lessons and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit of working together as a community for a better healthy living. The entire community appreciated the kitchen program and promised to continue working and participating in all the lessons. Both the community and Kibo staff agreed on the date and time that the next meeting would take place, a closing prayer was then given by one of the community members.
