- Notes
- When Alex B arrived at Bupaluka and found the members waiting for him at the usual meeting place. The meeting begun with an opening prayer that was led by one of the members of the group.
The chairperson of the group Saul Mutooto gave his welcome remarks. He thanked the members for keeping time for the meeting. Alex asked the group about the progress of the group from the time they last met. The main topic for the discussion was opening a bank account .
The chairperson of the group said that they are still working on it though it’s not yet ready because they are still contributing money required for opening a bank account. He said not only money will be used for opening but they also need some money to be kept on the account to keep it active.
Alex B asked the members to suggest a project that they can do as a group mean while as they process opening a bank account .The members came up with ideas of agriculture and suggested to grow maize and cassava since their seeds and seedlings are cheap and easily found in the community or the market. Most members bought it the idea but they was a concern on how to acquire land or renting it from who.
Saul Mutooto pledged to offer the group an acre of land to use for this year 2019 free of charge. They also agreed to contribute money to hire more land because an acre will not be enough for them as a group. One of the member ‘Moses ‘ told the group that there is a lady known as Loy Mulondo that has land that if they can contact her they can hire land and use it for their project . The group assigned him the responsibility of contacting her and should report the feed back to the group in the next meeting.
Alex B thanked Saul Mutooto for offering land to the group to use as it to develop the group. He asked them also to start thinking and planning on the time, labour, money that will be needed as they implement the project .He also encouraged them to all get involved in order to achieve success because one person may not do each and every thing. He also remained observe the season as it was time for preparing the gardens.
Members started assigning responsibilities to each other and Alex B left them to work on it because they need to be self reliant.
