Notes
Alex B found members of the group waiting for him at their usual meeting place. They had an opening pray that was led by one of the members. Fiida Kasinga the chairperson thanked them for turning up for the meeting. She reminded them to always check up with their trees to see how they are doing. Alex B and the members had a discussion how they are going to care for the goats that they are going to receive from kibo Group. Isiko George suggested that for a member to qualify for a goat should have a structure where it will be kept safe. He also said he/she should have proper way how it will be fed or grazed. The group also identified issue of treating the goats and some people said each member should treat his or her goat while others suggested to contribute money so that they can receive treatment as a group . This is because it will minimize the coast of transport for every one to go to town to buy drugs and even it will promote close monitoring of the goats. They agreed that that each member should learn to be responsible for their belongings. They said that goats should be left to rained own because they can easily be affected by rain and thieves may steal them from the bush when it is raining because most people keep them selves in doors when rain starts. Alex B told the members to care for the animals they have and that those they hope to get properly. He said the goats that will be given to them are she goats that will give birth to young ones. The goat to produce a healthy young one,the owner should be one who was responsible enough about it. He said that the structures are good but also deworming is more needful since they are not going to be kept in paddocks. He also told them to consult the veterinary officer to check up with their goats at certain time for advise. The leaders should check up with the members to see how their goats are doing. The owner of the goat also Incase he /she finds out that there a problem about it,then can report to the leaders. He advised them put tag for identification from the rest of the goats in the community. They need to be given water to drink and avoid them from eating things that will cause them diseases. The members should be mindful of one another’s goat since they are after to develop themselves. .
