Notes
Tom made a visit to Nabikenge village to check on sanitation and hygiene standards especially in the homes that had not finished there facilities when he third evaluation was conducted. When he arrived in the village, he was welcome by the new village chairman as well as other residents and committee members. Before they started moving around, the chairman gave a report about the sanitation and hygiene standards in the village as well as there new project which is the chicken project. He said there are now only two people from the previous list that still don’t have latrines. He also led the group to some of those homes that have constructed new latrines and surely they were there. He was also happy for Kibo’s work in the village. He said now people are very proactive in replacing or reconstructing facilities that have either collapsed or filled up as no one wants to go back to there old ways. He also showed Tom the new chicken coops they are constructing as well as the new goats kibo gave them. The chairman was very thankful as kibo has greatly changed there lives. After they moved around the village in a few homes were they saw three new latrines. On the issue of dish racks, Tom saw that there was a decline in dish racks as many were eaten by termites. Tom shared with the residents about a new model of dish racks that can help solve the problem of termites. Tom also encouraged the residents to construct better shower facilities by adding a layer of cement at the Top to add strength to the wall. After moving around, Tom left for jinja .
