Notes
Introduction Lorna went to this village with the intention of introducing Decision making however it did not go as planned. Overview Lorna while entering the village was able to see a home where a funeral was being held. This made Lorna question whether there will be any people present at the meeting. Lorna reached the meeting place and indeed there was barely anyone. Lorna decided to move around a few homes to gather a few people she could find to come attend the meeting. While moving around she met one of the chairman’s wife who asked her to walk with her to her home as she had something important to discuss with Lorna. She told Lorna that the chairman was no longer taking care of her together with their children. She added that last year she fell sick and she she went to the hospital she discovered that she had Gonorrhea an STD but while at the hospital they told her she cannot be treating herself minus the husband. However several attempts to get the chairman on board has failed. She said also when she planted tomatoes she expected her husband to help take care of it by participating in for example buying the pesticides required but again this did not go well with him as he failed to participate and the tomatoes died. She bought poultry and the same thing happened. She was asking Lorna for a advice. Lorna told her first of all that it was a great thing that she decided to go to the hospital for the std and that she started on the treatment. She however said that since her husband has refused to go for treatment, she should avoid being sexually involved with him as this will yield to no good. Lorna expressed her concern for the way the chairman’s behavior and she told Mukyala Waiswa (Waiswas wife) the chairman that she will organize and they will have a meeting. Lorna wants to make sure to follow the right steps. After this talk they walked back together to the meeting place. At the meeting place , they found a few people and later on people came but it was already late. They started the meeting a Lorna exchanged greetings with them and told them sorry for the loss of Naigaga whom she found out that she would actually attend the meetings. She did not teach as was planned because of the challenge in the village but asked for a way forward on how to get more people attending the lessons more than it was last year. The members suggested to change the day of the meeting and venue. Most people agreed but later on they suggested that they give members from this section one more chance and if they don’t respond as they did the previous year then they can go ahead and change the venue to the lower section. The Muslims were composing about the attendance of the non Muslims because for them as soon as they are done in the mosque, they find their way to the meeting place. Another reason was because of the day Friday being a day of worship for the Muslims , however Lorna said that it is fine as they can always join them along the way. Lorna also told them the next topic they would be looking at is Decision making. Conclusion They concluded that they will give the venue one more try and then if the response was still poor then there many people at the lower section and therefore they would transfer the meetings there. Lorna encouraged those who came to spread the news of what was discussed in the meeting. The day Friday was also left as is.
