- Village Notes
- The neighboring villages now admire what Ituba Namalowe is and are asking Kibo to go and do the same in their villages but However Alex challenged the people of Ituba to also teach their neighbors the same as was taught in their village by Kibo group. He went ahead to tell them that it doesn’t help to live next to a neighbor that is very dirty and filthy.

- Notes
- Alex was in Ituba Namalowe to conduct a training session of the new water user committee. Together they discussed each individuals’ roles and responsibilities to play on the committee and the joint roles and responsibilities. For example, a borehole caretaker should not involve her self in keeping money collected for the borehole but rather this responsibility only falls under the treasurer.
The roles and responsibilities are well stipulated out and each person should not assume any ones responsibilities. The chairman/ chairperson should not assume all the responsibilities and roles because this weakens others and he/she shouldn’t brag about being the head as this also weakens the water user committee.
Alex also asked the water user committee to be transparent and handle the borehole money with care without mismanaging it as this also weakens the water user committee if found that some money has gone missing. Alex called on all the water user committee members to be active at all times and give a good direction on how to properly take good care of the borehole by telling everyone what should be done. Alex reminded also that their the eyes of Kibo on this borehole when Kibo group is not around in their village and they risk losing it or being locked if they fail to take good care of this borehole. Alex will plan another trip back to Ituba with the community development officer and complete the last stage in training of the water user committee and guiding the community as they form their borehole bylaws.
