Notes
Tom made a visit to Nabikenge village to check on how the community is embracing the new model of dish rack that Tom recently demonstrated how it’s constructed. He was also checking how the homes that were finishing up there latrines especially. When he arrived in the village, he found the chairman and two residents waiting at the meeting place. They were happy to see Tom but mentioned of the death that happened in the nearby village. The deceased was closely related to many families in Nabikenge village so most people had gone to the funeral but the chairman and the two committee members offered to stay and move around with Tom before they could also go to the funeral. Tom first saw one of the newly finished dish racks. It was well constructed and the resident said it was a good design which he believes will last longer for his family. Because Tom also encouraged the residents about the use of cement on there showers, he found two new showers being constructed. In many other Tom, they found new poles for new dish racks. One of the residents mr Dan said he was excited to start on his new dish racks. He had already cut new poles and said he was waiting for them to dry a little before he can use them for dish rack construction as it would reduce the bending of poles during the drying process. In one home that did not have a latrine during the third evaluation, Tom found when the resident (woman) had started on constructing the structure of the latrine on the pit. She said she was getting ashamed from the rest of the community for not having a latrine. Tom appreciated her for her efforts to improve her home and encouraged her to work hard and finish it. Tom after met with the chairman to discuss about the coming meeting and advised him to mobilize the village for him.
