Health lesson 5: Teeth Cleaning
Notes
Ida went to Kitukiro and taught a health lesson about teeth cleaning. Ida asked if there was any one who knows how to care for their teeth. One member raised her hand and said by brushing. Gonza said by smoking. Kateme said the only medicine for rotten teeth is extraction. Ida asked the community to write down the steps of preventing tooth decay as Irene Ngobi elaborated. . Brush your teeth twice a day. .Reduce sugary foods and drinks. Don’t smoke or chew tobacco. . If you can visit a dentist for checkup and cleaning. Irene encouraged the community to brush with the available things they have eg salt, ash if they don’t have toothpaste with fluoride. She continued advising them not to use urine as toothpaste, cigarettes as medicine instead go to the hospital.
