- Notes
- Harriet found some participants waiting at the meeting place. As soon as she arrived other members who were still at home turned up for the meeting.
The chairperson of the group gave welcome remarks and told Harriet that they have a plan of removing banana stems as Harriet guides and watches them and this is intended to help them to easily acquire.
Harriet told them their plan is really good and promised to help them correct some mistakes Incase they make some. She also encouraged them to always be bold ready to practice before cause practice makes perfect.
The group together with Kibo staff went to Najemba’s house and started removing banana stems.
They tried to take out the banana stems but they forgot to take out the banana stem between the two cooking pots that is the one that takes fire from the big cooking pot to the small pot.
Harriet corrected the mistake and told them that if that banana stem remains inside it will block the hole that takes fire from the big pot to the small pot as well as smoke getting out of the kitchen thus the stove being in effective.
Harriet together with the community was able to remove banana stems from two stoves ( for Naiwumbya and Najemba). The community was very excited for having tried even if they were not perfect and they promised to keep on practicing.
Also they checked on the very first stoves that were built in the community and they were well smeared as well as the kitchens. Harriet thanked the community for being active and hardworking and encouraged them to maintain the same spirit in order to achieve success.
