Notes
Tom made a,visit to igerera village to check on facility constructions but also to meet the community and discuss about the construction methods of iron sheets. They were also to discuss about how the iron sheets were to be distributed and used. But when Tom reached the village, there was an urgent meeting that was taking place concerning domestic violence in a certain home. Tom was also welcomed into the meeting that was being chaired by a police officer from the district. During the meeting, Tom requested the chairman and him be excused from that clan/family meeting so that they can move around the village to check on latrines for homes that contributed for the iron sheets. This was not easy as all the people concerned in the village wanted the chairman to be present to the end. After Tom realizing that the meeting was not going to end soon, he requested to be left to go. He was requested to speak a little to the residents in the meeting. He spoke about unity and brotherhood. He also spoke about forgiveness and reconciliation in families as they are some of the ways that can help families grow and develop together. Later the chairman and Tom were left to leave. They moved in several homes that will be getting iron sheets for there latrines. They were taking pictures of the latrines as well as discussing about better construction methods. For some latrines that needed improvements, they encouraged residents to do so while for those that were not fully done, they also encouraged the residents to finish the latrines well before the iron sheets were delivered. In one home, they found when the family was constructing a new latrine. The woman was extremely happy while the man also was thankful to kibo for encouraging him and being patient with him. He was excited to finish his latrine and the woman greatly appreciated what kibo has done to encourage them and empower them to improve there sanitation and hygiene standards. After moving around, Tom left for jinja.
