- Notes
- Jeska ,Tape, Harriet and Suzan went to kiteigalwa Village to teach participants how to build stoves. They found when the participants were waiting for them at the meeting place.
They divided the participants into two groups whereby Jeska and Suzan went with one group while Harriet and Tape also joined one group. Each group had planned to build two stoves for the identified participants.
Kibo staff asked each group to stamp the dirt the dirt as they watch them . They participated and actively stamped the dirt. Kibo staff asked each group to participate and try to build stoves as Kibo staff guides them. One group tried while another group completely failed. They failed to measure the banana stems while another group failed to set the two old source pans as measurements for the size of the stove.
Kibo staff took the opportunity to explain to them as they corrected their mistakes. The group thanked Kibo’s polite approach for teaching them.
After successfully building the stoves, they walked around the homes checking whether the members who had got stoves had smeared them as well as their kitchens. Some people have started smearing their home facilities while others who had not yet smeared were reminded of the value of smearing.
In the process Kibo staff came a cross a child of two years who was sick of sickle cell , had taken two days without deficating, his stomach was swollen and in a bad condition. He was with his grand mother who had not even thought of taking the child to the hospital and taken him for witchcraft thinking that the child was attacked by evil spirits from the family of the father.
Harriet sensitized the family about the value of taking this child to the hospital which took a while but later own she accepted but the challenge was how to get transport to the hospital as well as hospital bills.
The question was “ what would Jesus do in situation like that” Kibo staff tried to talk to the father of the child on the phone call who said that he was a bit far from the village. Kibo staff contributed some transport and the child was immediately taken to the hospital we still pray for healing upon him.
