Notes
Enock and Martin went to this community to check on latrine construction, dish racks shower areas, kitchen area, clean compounds, smeared facilities, good shower areas and more. They went to meet with local leaders and the whole community residents to teach them how to economize the nails in construction of a good dish rack and standard one. The residents came to learn and understand the core importance of having a dish rack. The chairman introduced the meeting and opened it to the WASH staff to start the lessons. Enock asked the people to bring poles for the dish rack, and started carrying out a demonstration on how to construct a good dish rack. All the men where so active and attentive, the ladies where busy cutting down and carrying poles to complete the dish rack. All the people where participating and learning how to effectively construct good facilities. When we where teaching Martin was busy walking around to check on latrine construction, dish racks, sensitizing the residents on the benefits and values of latrine construction and good sanitation. As they were busy constructing the dish rack we reminded them about the continuous diseases which result to diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, trachoma, bilharzia and more. The residents appreciated the lessons and working towards improving and changing their sanitation.
