- Notes
- The last time Ida went to Ikumbya, many bad things were going on. A man had killed his wife, A bodaboda guy was killed, a man died instantly when he fell off from his bicycle. So the community was in great fear. When Ida reported in the meeting, every one was concerned and wanted to know how they can help. Henry advised Ida to go back and listen to what the community was talking and thinking about which will guide her to choose the appropriate lesson and also know exactly the need.
As Ida was walking home to home with the community members, Nabirye the chairperson told her what's going on at the neighborhood. The chairperson told Ida of a man, who has two wives in a house but each one with her room. They share a kitchen and living room, dish rack and a pit latrine. All these facilities bring chaos in the home. The first wife claims that every thing belongs to her, and that their husband needs to build for his mistress her facilities.
The second wife was in labor pains but the first wife paid a deaf ear.She didn't want even to hear anything about her co wife. The best thing Ida saw was , the man was carrying his child from the second wife on his back. The relatives of the second wife were the ones in Jinja hospital helping. Ida is still looking at how to address this situation.
Ida and the community stopped at the home of the deceased who was killed by her husband, sung some songs and one member prayed for the children who are desperate now.
Some members brought some food and sugar to help the orphans.
The community thanked Kibo for standing with them in the trying moments they are going through.
