Enock and Martin made a visit in this community to continue checking on the progress of sanitation and hygiene of this village. As they reached, they met with the chairman LC1, his cabinet and two VHTs who teamed up to walk about the community on issues of sensitizing residents about the importance of sanitation. In the past meeting we had taught them and demonstrated how to construct a good dish rack and left the men busy working on one. When we visited it this day, it was complete and they had constructed it neatly and this shows how they have learnt how to work together and construct a proper dish rack. In that home where the dish rack was constructed, the lady in that home was so happy with the work done and the improvement in her home. We continued teaching the residents on the benefits of disk racks and how best they can construct one which is sustainable. The men who came in the meeting promised to to construct three new dish racks and helping to also teach other residents how to construct good and strong dish racks. The community members are embracing the program, using pick axes and sharing them among them slept so that everyone who has no latrine can be able to dig a latrine and construct a good standard facilities. As we moved around, we taught the residents the core values of sanitation and hygiene. There are four new latrines that we saw under construction. I was so happy when the Chairman is involved with the other men to walk around teaching how to construct a dish rack with less nails but good standard.
