- Notes
- Suzan went to the village to follow up on the smearing activity and also to monitor the progress of the healthy and safe kitchen facilities.
When she arrived at the village, she went to the committee chairperson’s home where she found the village VHT and other members sitting under the mango tree. The members welcomed Suzan and together they sat down and had a few discussions about different program activities that were carried out so far within their community.
Together they agreed to walk around the village visiting home to home while monitoring the program facilities. Some members had neatly smeared their houses and stoves while others had not, they also reported saying that the energy saving stoves had greatly improved on their healthy lives in a way that they no longer suffered from smoke which caused red eyes, chest pains and also spent little time cooking their food. Suzan thanked the members for their effort in participating in all the program lessons and encouraged them to always maintain their facilities as well as improve on their sanitation and hygiene for a healthy living. She also requested those who neatly smeared their homes to kindly teach those who didn’t know whenever they got free time.
The community members thanked Kibo group for the educative programs introduced to their community and promised to always work together for an effective development. Suzan requested some committee members to always try and follow up on the smearing activity during their free time and make reports where necessary, for this would enable some members to participate easily without being left behind. The meeting then came to an end with the members wishing Suzan a safe journey back home.
