Enock and Martin went to check on latrine construction, dish racks, kitchen areas, rubbish pits, shower areas and more facilities. They went to continue educating the residents, sensitize them how to construct good facilities as well as emphasizing the the importance of using ash in latrine and hand washing. As they met with the chairman and some committee members they walked around to check on homes which roofed with the new iron sheets, encourage the residents the benefits on having proper roofs on latrine since we are emphasizing sustainability. The residents are working on their homes to construct good standard facilities since it’s been a long sunny season most people spent a lot of time in their home to construct good structures, maintain the old ones by smearing and those who had pits by constructing walls on their latrine. There has been a great number of latrines constructed in this community and only remaining with just 3 homes to complete their latrines. Most of the residents have greatly embraced the program and working towards improving their sanitation. We encouraged all the residents to use cement on top of their showers and taught them how to construct proper drainage systems and a soak pit where water is collected. They people without dish racks are taught the importance of having dish racks and how to construct good standard dish racks with few nail but strong. During this visit, we saw 3 new latrines under construction and all the families where so happy to have got latrines in their homes.

2019-04-10 - Purpose: To follow up on homes without latrine and continue encouraging them on the benefits of latrine and other facilities.
