Notes
Suzan, Tape and Jessica went to Naisamula to monitor the progress of the program facilities. However when they arrived there, they met some community members who informed them that they had lost one of their member’s child who was sick and that most of them had gone for the burial ceremony. The members welcomed Kibo staff and suggested they walk together around the village first so that they would have a look at the program facilities and comment where necessary then they would proceed to burial event later on. Together they begun moving around inspecting the facilities home to home while correcting and giving advice on how to improve on them. Many of the members had improved on their sanitation and hygiene and the facilities were well maintained and smeared such as the energy saving stoves, the main house, kitchens, shower areas and latrines. Some members had cracked stoves which needed repair and also the termites had eaten up their drying racks. Kibo staff went ahead and demonstrated how to repair a cracked stove by filling in the the cracks with the soil dirt. This was important because most of the members kept on smearing their stoves even if they had cracks instead of first filling in the cracks. The members were also requested to keep repairing all their facilities whenever they got spoilt and worn out for a better healthy living. Kibo staff thanked the members for the great work and encouraged them to continue maintaining their sanitation and hygiene and also participate together in the program activities. Members thanked Kibo staff for the good advice given and the meeting came to an end wishing them a safe journey back home.
