Introduction Lorna went to this school to continue with Decision making. Overview Lorna reached the School and was welcomed by the headmaster and together went to his office. While at his office he told Lorna that the school had started their end of term examinations so Lorna should give them up to 1pm if possible then she can teach them after lunch. Lorna said that was impossible and asked the Headmaster why they did not inform her in time so as to reschedule. The headmaster said the staff thought that by the time Lorna arrived, the pupils would be done with the exams. The headmaster called in the two sign language lessons and asked them to recall the papers from the pupils. Lorna asked how long had they been in the exam they said an hour and Lorna said no it would be wrong to withdraw a school program just like that. While they were still talking, the headmaster was informed that he had other visitors from Star Tech a non profit on hearing impairments that supports the school especially the special needs unit. They had come to carry out an assessment on how effective the hearing aids were being utilized. Since Lorna’s plan to teach was not going to work out, Lorna was asked by the headmaster to join him and the visitors to a brief interaction with them and the deaf pupils. They went to the Primary three class where they briefed the teachers about how the hearing aids can help in the inclusivity of the pupils in their normal day to day classes. Suzan from Star tech informed them that through these aids the pupils can pick sound not only in class but in their environments like ; car hoots, motorcycles among others. In class they can be able to pick sound that is ; vowels, and even be able to try and echo out the sounds. Conclusion Even though Lorna’s visit did not go as planned, she was able to learn how to deal with her deaf pupils better. They rescheduled for Wednesday . This could be the last visit made to this School until the next Term as the examinations are underway.
