- Irene and Ida visited nabikenge to continue with the STIs basically HIV/AIDS,syphillis and Gonorrhea, still Ida started with a reminder of the previous lesson then invited Irene to continue.
Irene started by asking the community members the local names of those diseases then after asked if they are common in the community.then the members answered with a yes mentioning the different signs and symptoms of each Irene went ahead to explain why the signs present differently in individuals especially Gonorrhea signs present more in men than women ,while syphillis in women can affect the babies leading to even blindness.
While these can be treated Irene informed the members that HIV has no cure but drugs to reduce the strength of the virus are freely available in the health units and they are effective.
Irene asked the members on how to prevent the following diseases and with interactive participation the measures were discussed asked questions and Irene encouraged the community members to visit the health centers Incase of any signs or for checkup to avoid spreading the infection.
