Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the smearing activity and also to monitor other facilities for the healthy and safe kitchen program. When she arrived there, she met the village VHT madam Namukose together with other members and the L.C.1 chairperson around the trading center who warmly welcomed her to the village. They informed her of their other members who were still attending to their gardens since it had rained in the previous night. And after having a few discussions and updates from the members, Suzan informed them of her intentions that day and suggested they move around the village visiting home to home while monitoring the program facilities . During the process, most homes were found neatly smeared with all the facilities well maintained like the energy saving stoves, shower areas, main house, drying racks and kitchens. While other members were in process of smearing their houses and repairing the facilities which were in a bad state. Some members reported about the stoves saying they really improved on their healthy lives in a way that they no longer suffered from smoke which caused chest and eye infections, it also cooked food faster saving time and firewood. Suzan thanked the members for their effort in improving on their general sanitation and hygiene and encouraged them to continue with the same spirit of working together as a team for an effective development within their village. She also encouraged those who were left behind to work hard and improve on their homes by smearing them oftenly so as to minimize dust and jiggers which caused different diseases. The members were also encouraged to always maintain all their facilities whenever they got worn out for a healthy wellbeing. The meeting finally came to an end with members wishing Suzan a safe journey back home.
